Hi everyone. Welcome to our school. We hope you enjoy your visit.

SPS French Trip Blog

Tuesday 19th June (am) - We departed school on time and have had a good journey to the chateau. We enjoyed our first evening meal and 'protect the egg' team game before heading wearily to our rooms. A good nights sleep was had by all, the sun is shining and we are looking forward to the day ahead.

Tuesday 19th June (pm) - We woke up on day two with the sun shining and have had a wonderful day. First we went to view the Mulberry Harbours and learnt about the D day landings - which was very interesting. Next we visited the beach for games, paddling, lunch and an ice-cream. Followed by a visit to a family run biscuit factory where we spoke in French, learnt how to make biscuits and made some biscuits of our own which were delicious. After this we went to a Goats Cheese farm where we stroked some goats, saw where and how the cheese was made and tasted some of the farms cheese. Back at the chateau we had fun in the pool, which was extremely cold, enjoyed a BBQ and competed in an It's a knock out competition, before settling down to support England. All happy and have had a fantastic day. We're sure we'll all sleep well tonight and can't wait for another fun filled day tomorrow.

Wednesday 20th June - Another great day for SPS French Trip. The children loved Bayeux Market and bought many beautiful gifts. The story of the Tapestry amazed us all and a trip around the town on the mini train was interesting and fun. Lunch on the beach in the sunshine was fantastic. The visit to the American Cemetery was extremely moving and amazed everyone with all children getting a lot from the museum information and seeing the cemetery. They even got to choose a grave to place a rose, which was extremely emotional. Our final swim in the pool was enjoyed by everyone, if a little cold!! After dinner we had the best karaoke and disco ever at the Chateau, with everyone joining in and enjoying the fun. Finally to finish our day we wearily completed our diaries, packed our bags for Paris and went to bed.

Thursday 21st June - We left the Chateau after a memorable stay and travelled down to Paris. Luckily there were no queues at the Eiffel Tower so we were able to climb straight up, which we did in record time!! All the children loved the experience. After lunch in the sunshine, we attempted to walk through the Tuileries Gardens to the Louvre and Notre Dame but unfortunately heavy storms stopped play, and we only saw the Louvre before running for shelter. The hotel is lovely and we enjoyed our evening meal. The quiz night was a huge success and great fun. Everyone fell asleep as soon as their head hit the pillow tonight. Our last day tomorrow and we are looking forward to visiting Montmartre and the Sacre-Coeur before heading home to our families.

Friday 22nd June - The children enjoyed their sleep, so much so they were dead to the world and needed an extra prod to get them up on the morning rounds! We enjoyed a breakfast at the hotel and ventured into Montmartre. Where we saw the Sacre-Coeur, wandered around the square and enjoyed a crepe. We are now on our journey back home and looking forward to seeing you all. We hope to be back at school around 8.30pm and will keep you posted via Twitter and/or the Snow Line. We hope you have been following our trip through the schools website and Twitter and have enjoyed our regular updates, particularly the Twitter feeds.
