DAY 1

June 20th 430pm

Really good journey - arrived at Chateau safely - weather a little wet but hoping for sunshine tomorrow.

Everyone ok - sorting rooms & settling for evening.

DAY 2

June 21st

An early start! All slept well and there were smiles all round at the first wake up call.

The day started with a special birthday breakfast for our birthday girl Evie.

Happy Birthday Evie!

Phew the sun is shining and we're off to enjoy a day of activites.

A good first day of activities for us today.
Everyone was moved by the American cemetery and museum and

enjoyed talking to an American Officer.

We had lunch over looking the beach and saw some artillery.
Next we visited a Goats Cheese Farm where the children were able to stroke and

feed the goats, learn how the cheese is made and taste some the cheeses made at the

farm.
We have been lucky with the weather and it has stayed dry so far. The children

enjoyed a swim before dinner and are now looking forward to 'It's a knock out

competition' later.  It will then be time for free activities, time in their rooms and

journal time before bed.  Ready for another packed day tomorrow!

Day 3

June 22nd

Despite a fun but late night, everyone was in good spirits at breakfast.  The weather

is a little showery but the children are looking forward to Bayeaux, spending money

in the market, going to the beach and making biscuits.

We had fun at our Its a knock out competition last night where we had to do

activites as a team.

Another fun packed day today, which has been enjoyed by all.
First we set off to the town of Bayeux, along with a couple of other schools staying

at the Chateau, where we saw the famous Bayeux Tapestry. Then we went on a train

tour around the historic town and looked at the amazing Cathedral and headed into

the centre, to visit the Market. I'm sure'll all you parents will appreciate your lovely

gifts!
Next we travelled to Arromanches to look at the Mulberry harbours and have our

lunch on the beach. We were lucky that the sun came out so we could paddle, enjoy

some beach games and have an ice cream.

Then we visited the biscuit factory, where we practiced our French, saw how the

biscuits were made and made some of our own. They were delicious!
We enjoyed our last swim at the Chateau, even though the water was cold and are

looking forward to a disco tonight and some free time where we can spend some time

together and meet up with the new friends we've made from other schools staying at

the Chateau.
We are looking forward to a BBQ but not so much to the packing this evening!!!  But

we can't wait to get to Paris tomorrow.

Day 4

June 23rd

All had fun at the BBQ and disco last night.  The children also enjoyed tasting frogs

legs and snails.  They were definately ready for bedtime lastnight and all slept

soundly.  In fact it was a little tricky getting them up this morning.  Everyone is

packed and excited about our trip to Paris, breakfast was lively with much

enthusiasm.

Tonights accomodation has been changed to another Travelbound Hotel, Acadie

Gonesse Hotel, which is entirely appropriate for a school party.

Day 5

June 24th

9.00am

A fantastic day was had by all yetsterday in Paris, where we enjoyed the sights,

climbed the Eiffel Tower and relaxed around Monmartre.  Tasty crepes went down

well whilst soaking up the French atmosphere and we had fun practising our french to the locals.

We stayed in a lovely hotel where we enjoyed dinner and slept peacefully.

We are now all very tired but have had an amazing time.  We have just set off for

our return journey and are looking forward to ice creams on the beach in Boulogne.

All being well we are due back at school as planned at 6.30pm - see you there!!
